- prevent (plagiarism OR academic dishonesty)
- Roig, Miguel Ph.D. "Avoiding Plagiarism." Office of Researching Technology. U.S. Deparment of Health and Human Services, n.d. Web. 10 Mar 2011. <http://ori.hhs.gov/education/products/plagiarism/plagiarism.pdf>. I chose this web page because it is a guide on how to not plagiarize and the steps needed to do so. The "A" for authority of the A.S.P.E.C.T.. This website comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services so the authority is there. The other is "S" for sources. This website has plenty of sources listed.
- Levan, Hayrapetyan. "Strive to Prevent Plagiarism But Be Ready To Detect It." Global IBFR. Houston Baptist University, n.d. Web. 10 Mar 2011. <http://www.theibfr.com/INTERNET/LV07141001-Proc-Hayrpetvan.pdf>. The "P" for Purpose is shown in this document and so is the "S" for sources. The "site:.com" didn't show the right quality of websites I was looking for.
- "Advice on How to Prevent Academic Dishonesty." Rutgers: School of Arts & Sciences. Rutgers University, 27 Aug 2010. Web. 10 Mar 2011. <http://www.finmath.rutgers.edu/index.php?d=academics&p=academicintegrityenforcement>. I chose this website because it gives tips on how to not plagiarize. This site has the "C" of coverage because it covers exactly what I am looking for. I would say that it also has the "E" for evenness. The website does not seem to pick a side on the plagiarism battle. It just states ways to prevent academic dishonesty.
- Edwards, Linda, and Matther Schoengood. "Avoiding and Detecting Plagiarism." The Graduate Center. The City University of New York, March 2005. Web. 10 Mar 2011. <http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:ZQL6_fr9sQgJ:seiscon.ietypschennai.org/pdf/plag1.pdf+prevent+%28plagiarism+OR+academic+dishonesty%29+site:.org&hl=en&gl=us&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESg9uj8teBbhaFPYKPCFxguGkm5Vw5i7PSPZDm9D8zyxsx9pWkTDHrUP4hsggaEqOzsSKzknSEiFgKBnlOxEnrllBNoj7muCU9AtDlcIHFk8xJHMO70j2G4P5kY3F0mrWJ8fSuea&sig=AHIEtbQ6_uECdqh3SugJQKf09Apk9-MkoQ>. I chose this because it talks about avoiding plagiarism. This document has plenty of sources from which it got its info ("S"). It has the coverage of everything I am looking for ("C").
Well I had trouble finding information with the domain of .com. I feel that there are too many of these websites around sometimes to properly find a really useful page. I feel that the .gov site was the best because right off the bat I had several correct sites pop up. With the exception of maybe the .org site, finding the correct sites was sort of like finding a needle in a haystack.
Hi, Jeston:
ReplyDeleteI would think there would be .org sites on this topic. Thank you for your analysis of the sites and evaluation.
